Communication Track

At every Toastmasters club meeting, participants gain exposure and experience by taking up meeting roles, ranging from giving a prepared speech or an impromptu one to serving as a Toastmaster, a timer, an evaluator or a grammarian thereby gaining confidence and competence in various aspects of communication and leadership proficiency. Other learning opportunities provided to you at Toastmasters, to learn and practice leadership skills, are through the mentorship program and leadership roles available at the club, area, division and district levels.

Leadership Track

The club executive committee serves as the governing body of the club, ensuring meeting quality and long-term success of the club. Following are the titles and standards of each executive committee member.

President: The President serves as the club’s chief executive officer, and is responsible for general supervision and operation of the club. He or she motivates and inspires the team to scale greater heights by setting and achieving short-term and long-term goals for the club.

Immediate Past President: The Immediate Past President provides guidance and serves as a mentor to club officers and members.

Vice President Education: The Vice President Education is responsible for planning successful club meetings so that each member has the opportunity to achieve his or her educational goals. He is also responsible for developing and maintaining a mentorship program for new and existing members.

Vice President Membership: The Vice President Membership manages the activities that sustain and increase the number of members in the club through various membership programs and provide potential new members with information and support.

Vice President Public Relations: The Vice President Public Relations manages the creation and maintenance of the club's positive image. The primary responsibilities of this role involve both internal and external communications.

Secretary: The Secretary manages all record-keeping and correspondence. The primary responsibilities of this role involve handling administrative details between the club and Toastmasters International and keeping the club's documents available and up-to-date.

Treasurer: The Treasurer manages the club's financial health. The primary responsibilities of this role involve handling the club's finances, including the collection of club dues and the payment of all bills.

Sergeant-at-Arms:
The Sergeant at Arms manages the club's meeting facilities and decorum. The primary responsibilities of this role involve all those tasks expected of the host of the meeting. Toastmasters Clubs are arranged into Areas, with each Area typically including four to six clubs. Each Area has an Area Governor, whose basic role is to help the clubs achieve their goals and meet the needs of their members in every way possible.

Thus the leadership track runs to the very pinnacle of the Toastmasters world. At each higher step, the respective governors/leaders manage the administration of all the clubs under him/her, with the help of a dedicated team which manages the marketing, education and financial responsibilities.
